How To Learn The Piano For Beginners
If you took lessons when younger and now as an adult you want to return and take it up again, you will still have to have starter piano lessons. Which ever applies to you, the methodology for learning remains the same.
There are several methods of tuition but in general they are all very similar. Even if you are practicing using electronic keyboards instead of a proper piano, the lessons you will receive will be virtually the same. A lot of students would like to learn how to read music and play some classical pieces but they could also be interested in learning some contemporary music, pop songs or maybe even Jazz. Many are also interested in accompanying themselves or others whilst singing.
This might appear a lot to accomplish as a complete beginner but if you know what your aims are then accomplishing them will only be a matter of time. Within a relatively short period you will find that you can achieve all of the above.

Learn To Play Piano Keyboards
There is a piano teaching method that I really love which is used by a home study course called ‘Piano For All’. The methods for teaching they used in this course impressed me a lot. These same notes are then shown to you on the musical stave so you can go about getting used to them. You are then taught what these notes look like on the musical staff. Next you are shown an easy melody which is to be played using all of the fingers, one for each key. The melody is written out so you can see it and there is also a diagram of the piano keyboard to remind you where the notes in question are
All this will take just a few minutes. Next you are taught the three notes that make up a basic chord. You make the chord sound by playing it to the easy rhythm they show you. You are instructed to play the fist note of the chord an octave lower with your other hand which gives you the bass. You are taught a new rhythm to follow involving using both hands and then suddenly you find that you are actually playing beginners piano and it sounds musical and isn’t taxing in the least.

Once you have this feeling easy to play, which will be almost straight away, you are then taught two or three more simple basic chords. Once you have learned a few chords you can play them changing from one to another in order and you will realize that you are playing genuine piano songs or accompaniments. If you learn to play using this method you will discover that it is really simple and this will give you confidence in your playing leaving you with a taste for more. Moving on through the beginners course you are taught some more rhythms and a few more tunes and chords. All of what you play is printed as keyboard diagrams and on the musical stave too. You will be playing real sounding piano or keyboards in much less time than you imagined.
In my opinion this way of learning is one of the best as it encompasses playing many styles of music from classical to pop, rock, jazz and gospel. It will also show you how to read music, how to play by ear and how to improvise.
